Presenting the nominees for the SFDB November Post of the Month.

Nominee #1: "***Not Guilty***"

Carlos Miller beats the rap and his post that documents that finding is a collection of video, photos and narrative that not only tells his story but also adds a few interesting miscellaneous details that rounds out things very nicely. The post was popular with Miller's readership, as you might imagine, who were generous with their commenting.

Nominee #2: "Who Chopped Down the Design District Trees?"

When Transit Miami learned about a number of trees that had been felled and cut up to make room for development in the Design District, their activist nature kicked in and they posted a number of pictures of the carnage. It's still an open question as to whether things were done according to laws and ordinances, but you have to give Transit Miami credit for bringing public awareness to this issue.

Nominee #3: "Isn't It Time Miami Named A Street After Sam Cooke?"

Random Pixels loves to access old news archives and build informative posts around them and last month he did it again while making a case for "Sam Cooke Boulevard" in Miami-Dade County. While most residents are probably sick of the way South Florida politicians seem to name streets prematurely to unqualified recipients, by the time you are done reading Random Pixels' well-reasoned and articulate post, a Miami-Dade roadway named Sam Cooke Boulevard makes perfect sense.

Nominee #4: "Lost & Found: The Della Humphrey Experience"

He found her. "He" being Long Play Miami and "her" being the long lost Miami soul singer named Della Humphrey. In this post, Long Play Miami documents his search, the find and includes the highly anticipated interview of the woman who you get the feeling would rather just stay lost. It's another fascinating, unique and wonderfully composed post from Long Play Miami.

I'm glad I'm not one of the 17 SFDB Editors this month. Some tough, tough choices for them. Nonetheless, the deadline for their deliberations is Friday, December 14th at 10 PM. The results should be announced here the following week.

As always, feel free to add your own thoughts about the nominated posts in the comments below.
