Rather than brave the crowds later this month, we decided to visit Starved Rock State Park over our winter break. After stopping at the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center for a glimpse of the eagles on Plum and Napoleon Islands, we headed to the park and climbed first the eponymous bluff and then Lovers Leap Outlook.
