A recount is being conducted this morning in St. Lucie County to determine, once and for all, whether Patrick Murphy will hold on to his win over Allen West for U.S. Congress.
I don't have any problem with this procedure, even though it's not required by law, if it will finally shut up Allen West and his Tea Party supporters once and for all. But since it's not required and West has demanded it at the expense of taxpayers, West needs to foot the bill. The entire thing, including overtime wages for all the county employees who have given up their weekends because West is a small man who can't accept defeat.
Count the votes. But demand payment from Allen West.

From the Palm Beach Post, the Tea Party trash is as classy as ever.
Dozens of observers, mostly supporters of incumbent Republican Rep. Allen West, crowded into the recount area in a deserted former shopping mall in Fort Pierce. Some heckled St. Lucie County Commissioner and Canvassing Board member Tod Mowery as he explained the recount process to the audience.
