Time once again to highlight a few blogs/blog posts from South Florida folks that currently aren't appearing on the SFDB blogroll. The Straw Buyer
Right around Halloween, The Straw Buyer stumbled across an old cemetery that snuggles up against the Airport Expressway in the 305 and witnessed some folks apparently rummaging through a casket.
The caskets in this cemetery aren't below the ground, they're contained in concrete boxes with heavy concrete lids. What these guys had done was remove the concrete lid and then lift the casket out but when they did, the rotten wooden casket just fell apart dumping it's contents onto the ground...Yikes.
Fat Girl Hedonist
Thai food in Doral? You bet...and FGH has the awesome pictures to prove it.
This place has quickly become one of my go-to lunch spots, but be warn of a couple things: 1. During the lunch rush service isn't the best and the wait staff takes longer than usual to swing by your table to check on you. 2. They have great Thai Iced Tea. 3. The 3 waitresses that have attended me have had THICK accents, to the point where I just smile and nod whenever they talk. So I try to ask as little questions as humanly possible and get straight to the point. Luckily, most of the menu items have pictures, so you don't have to guess too much.
